The Wardrobe – Creative Literacy and Skill Building
Walk through The Wardrobe to a world of your own creation where the unbelievable becomes the believable.
The Wardrobe is a curriculum based literacy initiative, where pupils walk through a wardrobe to discover different costumes and props.
They will be asked to choose a costume and/or props to develop a character and then, as a group, working under the guidance of published Authors, begin to create a story and using extended writing skills finish the story individually or as part of a small group.
Each session is designed for young people to have fun whilst creating an individual piece of work, with the aim being for pupils to learn how to structure a story or a play in one full day.
The learning objectives for the day are to:
- Develop literacy skills;
- Develop problem solving skills;
- Learn how to work as a team;
